Funny how a mass arrest goes completely under the radar when it’s mostly teens, right?
To be clear there was no explosive; “hill bomb” is just what the event is called.
Holy SHIT. I just finished reading a related article, and y’all, this was so corrupt OTHER SFPD COPS ARE STANDING WITH THE KIDS.
Like basically their take is “yeah, some kids were being unruly. Y’all handled it ENTIRELY the wrong way and there is zero reason this should have happened.” There was an official meeting (I think like a monthly town hall kind of thing? I forgot to take note when I read it) and the cop who’s in charge of internal conduct investigation was there and he. Was. PISSED. And inviting parents and teens involved to give their testimony on the specifics of the rights violations they experienced so he could follow up and make full reports.
Like you KNOW shit’s fucked when even other police are looking at the police chief and saying “what the fuck is wrong with you?”

i have a brain problem that prevents me from understanding people who need so much specifically newly-released TV shows that they’re upset by the prospect of going a few months without new ones being produced
like they could stop making video games and books today and I wouldn’t notice until sometime in 2026. honestly if they’d stop making new video games for a while that’d be kinda convenient. everyone take a break and let me catch up. I still haven’t even played Persona 5.

Some people are baffled by the concept that there really are people who actually like children but don’t want any of their own. “Childfree” doesn’t automatically mean someone who simply hates children. The thing is, I do like kids, and I will absolutely not compromise on my stance that each and every child deserves to grow up in a safe, stable and supportive environment. I also know that I get aggressive if I’m constantly sleep-deprived or overstimulated. People generally don’t regard me as someone capable of violence, but if I can’t get 15 minutes of silence each day and at least 5 hours of sleep every night, I will start throwing things. And I know kids won’t let you have that. Ever.
Kids deserve to grow up feeling safe and cherished, unafraid to express themselves and without worry that they’re unwelcome or unwanted. And that’s why they should be doing that somewhere else than in my fucking house.

i love working at an aquarium i just witnessed a grown man with children enter the freshwater gallery and loudly exclaim “oh shit, piranhas are REAL?!?”
the delights of working with the public continue! just heard someone announce over the radios “hey we have guest wearing an inappropriate shirt that needs to be spoken to, i last saw him in sharks & rays and the shirt says ‘do milfs not drugs’ if a supervisor could take care of that that’d be great cuz he’s not being cooperative” and then a good 5 minutes later i heard a supervisor radio for security backup

“i wish i could do something 😔 / i wish the wga had a kickstarter or a gofundme, i would throw money at it” good news! it’s amazing how you can literally go onto the wga strike website or the wgawest linktree from their twitter and find links to support writers and other workers affected by the strike

those mutuals you have for years and years without ever really engaging with directly…. they are like coworkers to me. susan from accounting. I know you have kids and your interests (not aligned with mine but that’s okay) and we will never get after work drinks. but in my mind I am signing your birthday card.
